President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) fears that the mixed CPI of the January 8 coup attacks will paralyze the government and asked ministers and leaders to work to prevent this from happening.
Despite this, according to interlocutors, the Chief Executive has said that the fact that the commission can bring more agility to the investigations will be positive.
Lula told allies that the CPI could, for example, break secrecy and take other measures with more visibility and speed than the judiciary, and could even help investigation work.
The conversation took place during the first agenda of the president back in Brazil, after a trip to Portugal and Spain, this Thursday morning (27) at the Alvorada Palace.
Ministers Rui Costa (Casa Civil), Flávio Dino (Justice), Márcio Macêdo (General Secretariat), Paulo Pimenta (Secom), and government leaders in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP), in the Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), and in the Chamber, and José Guimarães (PT-CE).
According to reports, the assistants told the president how the installation and assembly of the mixed CPI took place, whose indications should begin to be made next week. In response, Lula asked for care so that the work of the commission did not paralyze the government.
In addition, the president also signaled that he has not yet made up his mind and is in no hurry to decide on his nominee to fill the vacancy left by Ricardo Lewandowski at the STF (Federal Supreme Court), on April 11.
While he was away, the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), read the application for the creation of the CPI on Wednesday (26).
The opposition pressed for it to be installed, but it was only when images from the closed circuit cameras of Planalto on January 8 became public, which culminated in the fall of the now ex-minister of the GSI (Institutional Security Office).
