Lula charges ministers for more deliveries and disclosure one week away from the 100 days of government – 03/04/2023 – Politics

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) once again urged members of his top echelon to carry out more deliveries and better publicize the government’s achievements, one week before his administration completes one hundred days.

The representative has been pressuring the ministers to present new measures, repeating that he has little time in the Presidency. This morning, he held the last meeting with assistants by sector, this time with productive and industrial areas.

According to reports, he also said that ministers need to disclose the achievements of their folders, because he considers that this information is not reaching the end.

The representative has said that his management has been more concerned with building social programs that were dismantled by his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), in response to the fact that all that was presented are recycled programs, such as Minha Casa Minha Vida and Bolsa Família.

“Next Monday, when evaluating the 100 days, we will have to announce what we are going to do going forward, because the 100 days will be part of the past. We will have to discuss what to do from the point of view of investment in the agricultural industrial area, what are we going to do in the area of ​​science and technology”, said the PT in a speech at the beginning of the meeting, which was broadcast on TV Brasil.

Before leaving for China, next Tuesday (11), Lula will meet with his 37 ministers, and an overview of everything that was done in the first hundred days will be presented, in addition to proposals for what to do this year. .

In this 100-day package, for example, the new PAC (Growth Acceleration Program) will be presented. The program will also be recycled from previous administrations, but will have some new features, such as another name.

The change was requested by Lula himself, in another meeting, also broadcast by TV Brasil. At the time, the president asked Minister Paulo Pimenta (Secom) to come up with a new name for the program, to show that the government “is innovating”.

Lula is particularly concerned with publicizing his government. The criticism is that what is being done is not reaching the population.

The charge, in this sense, fell on all portfolios in general: the Chief Executive said he wanted all ministers to present a plan for disclosing the measures.

At this morning’s meeting, Lula also took the opportunity to criticize who he called “pessimistic” about the Brazilian economy. He said he disagreed with negative assessments of GDP (Gross Domestic Product) this year.

The declaration took place at the opening of a meeting with ministers at the Planalto Palace, on the same day that the Focus Bulletin released the average GDP projection at 0.9%.

“[Eu] I told Fernando Haddad last week that I don’t agree with the negative assessment that GDP will grow by 0.1%, that I don’t know how much GDP will grow,” Lula told the ministers.

“Let’s see what will happen when the so-called micro, small and medium economy starts to happen in the corners of this country. Let’s see what will happen when people start to produce more, buy more, sell more. that the economy is going to make an important leap,” he continued.

The statement also comes at a time when the percentage of Brazilians who foresee a worsening in the economy rose from 20% to 26%, according to a Datafolha poll released this Saturday (1st).

Among those that count on an improvement, there was a drop from 49% to 46%, and 26% say they believe that there will be no change in the direction of economic activity.
