On a trip to Europe, President Lula (PT) spoke with allies in Brazil this Wednesday (21) in search of information about the environment of the lawyer Cristiano Zanin’s sabbath.
Around 3 pm, Lula, who is visiting the Vatican, telephoned the leader of the government in the Senate, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), from whom he heard a reassuring assessment. “Zero problem,” said the leader. “Just turn on TV Senado”, added the congressman.
In the antechamber of the commission, Wagner handed over the phone to the president of the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission), Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP). According to reports, Lula wanted to know if Zanin’s nomination would be submitted to the plenary this Wednesday. The response was also optimistic.
In the committee’s plenary, Zanin consumed only cereal bars, while senators stocked up on sandwiches and soft drinks.
The lawyer arrived at the Senate at 9:15 am, being guided by Alcolumbre and by the leader of the government in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues (AP).
The president of the TCU (Tribunal de Contas da União), Bruno Dantas, the president of the OAB, Beto Simonetti, and the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, were in the Senate to express their support. Allies say the lawyer spent the previous night in final preparations for the Sabbath, studying.
