The competition brought together 400 athletes at the Bergão gym, in São Jorge

Manaus (AM) – With or without a kimono, the team that reigns on the mats is the team led by professor Lucivam Araújo, who won the first edition of the Copa Encontro das Águas de Jiu-Jitsu Gi and Nogi. The competition organized by sports entrepreneur João Bosco Júnior, known as Bosquinho, brought together 400 athletes last Saturday (9), at the Bergão gymnasium, in São Jorge, West Zone of Manaus.

With a total of 67 registered athletes, Lucivam Araújo’s “Dream Team” won both the Gi competitions, with 269 points, and the Nogi competition, with 99 points. In the kimono competition, the achievement earned a prize of R$ 1,200 for the Lucivam Araújo team, with its headquarters in the Compensa neighborhood. In the Nogi modality, the champions received a trophy and a supplement kit.

“Very happy with the performance of the male and female athletes and especially with the result, as this is our first achievement in an event organized by Bosquinho. We are a growing team and today, in addition to Compensa, we have branches in Monte das Oliveiras, Manoa, Jorge Teixeira and João Paulo”,

said the commander.

According to the master, the Lucivam Araújo team had already stood out in the IBJJF International Open that took place recently at Arena Amadeu Teixeira, in Manaus. The group had almost 100% success in that competition.

“Now it’s time to continue training hard to maintain the level in the championships that we have ahead on the calendar, such as the Copa Osvaldo Alves (FJJAM, September 23 and 24), the Youth Cup (FAJJPRO, October 14) and the Campeonato Amazonense Nogi (FAJJPRO, October 15)”, concluded Lucivam Araújo.
