The CCJ (Constitution and Justice Commission) of the Chamber analyzes in a session this Tuesday afternoon (26) the request for arrest of deputy Chiquinho Brazão (União Brasil-RJ), detained by the Federal Police on Sunday (24) on suspicion of being a of those who ordered the murder of Marielle and Anderson.
According to the Constitution, a parliamentarian can only be arrested in the act for a non-bailable crime. In this case, the STF understood that the obstruction of Justice and the configuration of a criminal organization justify the measure. In the Chamber, the arrest must be confirmed by a majority of deputies.
Federal deputy Darci de Matos (PSD-SC), rapporteur at the CCJ for the arrest request, presented an opinion in favor of maintaining the parliamentarian’s arrest.
