The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), received this Wednesday (30) a manifesto from 23 parliamentary fronts in favor of discussing the administrative reform, which is stalled in the National Congress and is the target of constant criticism from the PT.

The document was delivered during a luncheon held by the Parliamentary Front for Commerce and Services, with the presence of various benches such as Agriculture (FPA), Competitive Brazil and Entrepreneurship (FPE). The demonstration highlights the benefits of reducing the size of the State to foster a more favorable environment for business, economic growth and job creation.

“We need to make the government understand, for better or for worse, like this or like that, that it has to enter into this discussion. We can’t do a vote with 308 [votos] without the basic consensus on the principles”, he said in a record of the Economic value.

Arthur Lira also mentioned the possibility of the government sending a new text on the subject, which would be incorporated into the PEC already in progress, and that there is no intention of harming the current servers. The reform, as he has already said in previous interviews, will only affect future civil servants to be hired.

The president of the Chamber emphasized that the support of the government and the construction of consensus are fundamental to move forward with the agenda, highlighting that the approval of the PEC of the administrative reform needs discussion and support, as it happened with previous reforms.

“When the State eases its expenditures and excessive regulations, companies can benefit from a more favorable environment for investment and expansion, leading to job creation and increased production,” he said.

The PEC of the administrative reform was sent to Congress during the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), facing resistance in the Lula government. Lira reaffirmed that, despite being ready to go to the plenary, the vote depends on agreement with the government, emphasizing the importance of a collective approach and consensus for the agenda to advance.

“There are no referrals yet. Regimentally, the PEC is ready for plenary. The distance between it being ready and going to the plenary is support, it is demystifying the versions”, he added, noting that the productive sector needs to exert “sufficient pressure” for the text to go to the vote.
