The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), criticized this Wednesday (31) the political articulation of the Planalto Palace to approve matters of interest to the government. According to him, there is widespread dissatisfaction among deputies with the lack of this political articulation. Lira also stressed that, if the MP that restructures the ministries is not voted on or is not approved, the blame cannot fall on the Chamber (MP 1154/23).

Before the analysis, Lira participates in a meeting of leaders to decide on the MP’s vote, informed Agência Câmara. According to him, it is still not possible to know whether the government will have votes or will be able to vote on the proposal today. The provisional measure expires on Friday (2).

“I have been warning about this lack of pragmatism in day-to-day solutions, the lack of attention. Let’s talk and see if the Chamber will once again give credit to the government”, said Lira. “If the result is non-approval and non-vote of the MP, the Chamber should not be responsible for the government’s lack of political articulation”, she added.

Lira confirmed that she spoke with President Lula by telephone and explained the difficulties that the government has been facing in the Chamber. He also denied that he required ministries to approve the proposal. “There is no feeling, what there is is a generalized dissatisfaction of the deputies – and perhaps of the senators, who have not yet taken a position – with the lack of political articulation of the government, not of one or another minister”, he pointed out.
