Leite is attacked by Jean Wyllys for maintaining civic-military schools in RS

After announcing that he would maintain the civic-military school program in the state, the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB), was the target of attacks on social networks by former federal deputy Jean Wyllys (PT). When commenting on the governor’s announcement, via Twitter, about maintaining the program, the PT responded to the post with criticism and allusion to Leite’s homosexuality.

“That straight right-wing and far-right governors would do this was expected. But from a gay…? While gay men with internalized homophobia often develop libido and fetishes towards authoritarianism and uniforms; if you are white and rich then…”, published Jean Wyllys.

Leite countered, classifying the PT’s comments as “depressing”: “A depressing demonstration, full of prejudices in countless directions… and which does nothing to build a society with more respect and tolerance. Jean Wyllys, I regret your ignorance.”

Criticized even by the left for frequent hateful comments against political opponents, the former deputy should be appointed in the coming weeks to occupy a position in the Secretary of Communication (Secom) of the Lula government (PT). The expectation is that Wyllys will act in the communication planning area of ​​the PT government.

In reaction to the Lula government, 19 states decided to maintain civic-military schools

After the determination of the Lula government to close the Civic-Military Schools Program (Pecim) created in the government of Jair Bolsonaro, most states reacted to the decision with measures that, in practice, contradict the decision. In all, 19 governors have already said they will state the civic-military schools to keep the model running.

Some of the most populous states in the country, such as São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul confirmed the maintenance of civic-military schools. The Northeast is the only region where the program will mostly not move forward under the administration of the states, almost all governed by declared allies of the PT government. However, there are exceptions: the governors of Maranhão and Sergipe signaled for the continuity of the model.
