Leader of the agricultural bench says the meeting with Barroso was in a “appeasing” tone

The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), minister Luís Roberto Barroso, received this Wednesday (18) the president of the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA), federal deputy Pedro Lupion (PP-PR). The meeting occurred almost a month after Lupion promised to obstruct, together with the agricultural bench, the processing of important agendas in Congress after the Court rejected the thesis of the time frame for the demarcation of indigenous lands.

Congress approved the time frame days after the STF rejected it. The text awaits the sanction of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). According to Lupion, the meeting had a “appeasing” tone. Lupion stated that the time frame was not discussed with the minister. “We don’t treat it. Among the points covered, parliamentarians arranged new meetings with Court technicians to update the minister on important topics for the agribusiness bench and environmental issues that could affect the sector.
