Law Paulo Gustavo has R$ 30.2 million allocated to the cultural sector of Amapá – News of Brazil

Amapá and the 16 municipalities in the state will receive a total of R$ 30.2 million from the Paulo Gustavo Law (Complementary Law No. 195/2022) for use in cultural projects. The decree that regulates the text was signed in Salvador (BA) this Thursday, 5/11, by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The legislation pays homage to the actor and comedian who died in May 2021, a victim of Covid-19.
“Culture means employment. Millions of opportunities for people who need to eat, have breakfast, lunch and dinner”said the president. “Culture can help the people make the revolution that needs to be made in this country, so that the people can work, study, eat, have quality transportation. Culture can make us demand compliance with the Brazilian Constitution”, completed Squid.
Altogether, the Law Paulo Gustavo will have a direct transfer of R$ 3.8 billion, the highest amount in the history of the country destined to the cultural sector. Of this amount, R$ 2 billion are allocated to the states and R$ 1.8 billion to the 5,570 Brazilian municipalities.
Of the total R$ 30.2 million reserved for Amapá, R$ 22.6 million are earmarked for State government and another R$ 7.5 million for the 16 municipalities in Amapá. The five with the highest forecast for transferring resources in Amapá are Macapá (R$ 4.6 million), Santana (R$ 952 thousand), Laranjal do Jari (R$ 419 thousand), Oiapoque (R$ 233 thousand) and Porto Grande (BRL 189 thousand).
