Tacla Duran accused Dallagnol and Senator Sergio Moro (União-PR) of trying to extort him so that he would not be arrested during an unfolding of Lava Jato at the time when Dallagnol was the coordinator of the task force and Moro, the judge in charge.

The subpoena for the hearing, issued in an order this Friday (19), aims to clarify whether Dallagnol has any personal ties with the Federal Attorney Walter José Mathias Juniorwho represented the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) at the hearing in which Tacla Duran made the accusations, last March.

In April, the lawyer filed an exception of suspicion against Mathias Junior, claiming partial performance by the prosecutor. The reason would be an alleged personal connection between him and Deltan Dallagnol.

In the order, Eduardo Appio states that, “although Rodrigo Tacla Duran makes direct reference to the hearing held in this Federal Court, during which the exmo. Mr. attorney of the Republic acknowledged the personal coexistence ties of the former prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol, I consider that the evidence produced so far must be complemented by the hearing of the said witness, which must clarify whether he maintains a personal and intimate bond of friendship with the exmo. Mr. requested public prosecutor.”

At the time of Tacla Duran’s accusation against Moro and Dallagnol, Appio determined that the case be sent to the Federal Supreme Court (STF), since it is up to the Court to analyze actions involving people with privileged jurisdiction. Now, the judge convenes a hearing in the Federal Court of Curitiba, justifying that it is “a well-known fact that the said witness no longer has the prerogative of the forum or the privileges inherent in the mandate of a federal deputy”.

Last Tuesday (16), the TSE rejected Dallagnol’s candidacy registration, proceeding with the annulment of the mandate of deputy in the Federal Chamber.

Regarding Tacla Duran’s claim that he had a personal connection with the MPF prosecutor, Deltan Dallagnol claims that he spoke once or twice via messaging application with Mathias Junior, and on random subjects. “I spoke to him about the health of the children, something related to that, but I don’t remember ever meeting him. One more piece of nonsense from someone who is trying to look for ‘egg hair’ to attack Lava Jato”, she concludes.

The hearing at the 13th Federal Court is scheduled for June 19, and will be in person.
