Petition for CPI on Abuse gathers 200,000 post-Deltan support – 05/19/2023 – Panel
[ad_1]
An online petition for the installation of the CPI on Abuse of Authority, started on Wednesday (17) night, gathered more than 200 thousand signatures in the period of 48 hours.
The volume was so expressive that the website that hosts the petition twice crashed (access the link here).
The CPI proposal is from federal deputy Marcel Van Hattem (Novo-RS), who initiated the undersigned after the impeachment by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) of the mandate of Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR).
Van Hattem proposed the CPI last year to investigate alleged abuses committed by STF and TSE ministers during the electoral process, but the request for investigation gathered support from only 142 of the 171 deputies needed, most of them from the right.
The expectation now is that Deltan’s impeachment will give new impetus to the attempt to create the CPI.
