The Federal Court in Santarém, Pará, determined the provisional freedom of the landowner who made threats against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). Arilson Strapassom was arrested by the Federal Police last Thursday (3), but was released from prison this Saturday (5).
With the court decision, he will respond freely for the crime of threat and is prevented from approaching the district of Alter do Chão (PA) for 10 days.
Freedom was granted by Judge Mônica Guimarães, from the 2nd Federal Court of Santarém. For the magistrate, there were no irregularities in the arrest in flagrante delicto, but determined that the landowner respond freely without the need to pay bail, which was set at 100 minimum wages for his release.
In the statement about the farmer’s arrest, the PF says that Strapssom made threats against President Lula while he was buying drinks at a store. According to investigations, he would have said that he would shoot the president in the belly and asked those present if they knew where he would stay when he went to the municipality. The suspect was accused of the crimes of threat and incitement, or preparation of an attack against a person for political reasons. Judge Mônica Guimarães maintained only the accusation of threat.
