Participating live on the Opera Mundi channel, former PT deputy José Genoino criticized the State of Israel for attacking Hamas and said that the terrorist organization has the “right to resistance”. The conflict has already left 3,200 people dead, 1,900 Palestinians and 1,300 Israelis.

“The right to resistance against tyranny cannot be conceptualized as terrorism, which is the argument for the imperialist order, NATO, together with the State of Israel: to carry out the elimination of the Palestinians,” said the former deputy.

Genoíno’s speech is mistaken because last Saturday (7) Hamas launched an unprovoked attack on Israel with rockets, missiles and actions by terrorists who killed civilians randomly on the streets and inside their homes in 30 Israeli cities.

Genoino was arrested in the monthly allowance process for active corruption (offering undue advantage). He was accused of being involved in paying bribes to parliamentarians from the allied base.

Commenting on the Brazilian government’s stance in not condemning Hamas terrorists for the attack in Israel, the former deputy praised Lula’s “pragmatism”. “I consider that the pragmatism of the Lula government is going well in relation to the prompt response of bringing in the Brazilians, the prompt response of convening the UN Security Council and the prompt response of demanding a humanitarian and defense corridor for the sovereign Palestinian State, autonomous and economically viable.”

He accused Israel of denying rights to Palestinians. “The Palestinians have the right to their freedom and what the State of Israel wants is for the Palestinians to have no rights. They want to have the right to exist, as a people, with territory, with activity, with their characteristics.”

Started in the early hours of last Saturday, the war between Israel and Hamas occurred one day after the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. Thousands of missiles were used and terrorists invaded Israeli communities as they crossed the border. The action resulted in the death and kidnapping of at least 150 Israelis. There was also a massacre at an electronic music festival in Israel’s southern desert over the weekend, during the start of the Hamas attack.
