Janja says that ‘if everything goes well’ Bolsonaro will be arrested soon

First Lady Rosângela da Silva, the Janja, told PT activists this Saturday (9), that it is necessary to stop using the term “Bolsonarism” and replace it with “fascism”. Janja participated in a panel at the PT Electoral Conference and Government Program, in Brasília, and stated that “if everything goes well”, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) will soon be arrested.

“I am convinced that we need to stop using the term ‘Bolsonarism’. This guy, the unmentionable, is ineligible and, if everything goes well, he will soon be there (makes the ‘behind bars’ symbol with his hands)”, she stated.

“We need to start calling people fascists, because that’s what they are. It is fascism that kills, that cancels us, that wants to cancel us. So, we need to leave this period behind and change, turn this key around, start using the term ‘fascist’. Leave this guy there in his rightful place in history, which is nothing, the trash can.”

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) made Bolsonaro ineligible twice this year. In June, the Court charged the former head of the Executive with abuse of political power and misuse of the media due to the meeting in which he attacked electronic voting machines in front of diplomats by 5 votes to 2. In October, the TSE imposed another setback to Bolsonaro and condemned him again to ineligibility by a new score of 5 votes to 2. General Walter Braga Netto, vice-president, was also declared ineligible. The ministers also established a fine of R$425,000.

The Electoral Court judged three actions that attributed to the former president and the general abuse of political power, abuse of economic power and prohibited conduct in the celebrations of September 7, 2022. The majority considered that Bolsonaro and his vice used the official ceremonies to campaign and tried to use the Armed Forces to boost their candidacy.

Bolsonaro is being investigated in Federal Police (PF) inquiries before the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The former president is the target, for example, of investigations involving the cases of jewelry and vaccination cards. The former president is suspected of having intervened, personally and through employees of his own office, to obtain for himself the release of a set of jewelry, given by the Saudi Arabian government. As it was an institutional gift, it should be cataloged and incorporated into the Union’s heritage. The case was revealed by the Estadão.

In May, Bolsonaro was the target of a PF operation and had his cell phone seized. He is suspected of having defrauded his own vaccination card and that of his youngest daughter, Laura, before going to the United States, in the last days of December 2022.

The former president claims that he did not take any dose of the vaccine against Covid-19, but the PF identified that two doses of the vaccine were on the Conecte SUS card. The Presidency’s aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, was arrested in this investigation. The soldier was released after closing a plea bargain.
