Jair Renan’s defense stated that Jair Bolsonaro’s 04th son is “surprised” by the Federal District Civil Police operation launched this Thursday (24). In a note, lawyer Admar Gonzaga said that, despite this, his client is “absolutely calm about what happened”.

The investigation targets a group suspected of embezzlement, forgery of documents, tax evasion and money laundering. The police served two search warrants against Renan, one in Balneário Camboriú (SC), where he currently lives, and another in Brasília.

The criminalist stated that he was newly constituted as representative of Jair Renan and that, therefore, he has not yet obtained access to the investigation records or information on the grounds of the judicial decision that authorized the searches against the former president’s son.

He also said that Jair Renan was not taken for a deposition or any other measure.

“The search and seizure warrants were carried out in the Federal District and in Santa Catarina. In the Federal District, the orders were carried out in Águas Claras and in the Southwest, to the detriment of the main target and two accomplices”, stated, in a note, the Civil Police of DF.

One of the “colleagues” would be Jair Renan, according to investigations. A cell phone, an HD and some papers with notes were seized at the addresses linked to him.

The police arrested the mastermind of the scheme and are trying to capture a second person involved, who had his arrest decreed, but who is on the run. This second person, according to the district corporation, is also wanted for the crime of homicide that occurred in the Federal District.

The investigation pointed out the “existence of a criminal association whose strategy to obtain undue economic advantage involves the insertion of a third party, ‘front man’ or ‘orange’, to hide the true owner of the shell companies or ‘ghost’ companies, used by the main target and his accomplices,” says the police statement.

The case is in charge of the Police Station for the Repression of Crimes against the Tax Order, the area of ​​combating corruption and organized crime of the Civil Police of the DF. The operation was named Nexum.

The names of the president and his children have already been linked to cases of ghost employees, suspicious asset development, ties to militiamen and electoral slush funds. In some cases, the family is directly investigated, in others, the name was mentioned in a statement or maintained an indirect link with those involved.

Bolsonaro was recently convicted by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) for lies and attacks on the electoral system, thus becoming ineligible for the next eight years, and still faces a series of lawsuits, as in the case of jewelry and under suspicion of responsibility for the attacks. from the 8th of January.
