Itaú begins financing round for LGBTQIA+ projects – 02/23/2024 – Panel SA

Itaú will allocate R$500,000 to finance projects aimed at the LGBTQIA+ community. This is the sixth edition of the LGBT + Pride program.

The notice was released this week and registrations will be open between March 4th and 29th.

Individuals, groups or collectives, non-profit organizations that already develop entrepreneurship, income generation and employability programs aimed at the community can apply to obtain part of the resources.

According to the bank, projects led by LGBTQIA+ people will have preference, with an impact on other pillars of diversity, such as race, ethnicity, age and minority groups (people with disabilities, indigenous people and refugees).

“We still have a long way to go, but this program, in addition to promoting direct impact through the promotion of selected initiatives, recognizes the value of community agents for the development of LGBTQIA+ people”, says João Torres, executive president of Instituto +Diversidade, which is Itaú’s partner in the initiative.
