Integration projects for Amapá are presented by the Ministry of Regional Development – News of Brazil

In Brasilia, the governor Clecio Luis and technical team were received this Tuesday, 28, by the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), which presented structural and trade projects for Amapá.
The invitation was made by the minister Waldez Goes, with the objective of advancing the planning of initiatives for the development of the state with support from the federal government.
Autarchy of MIDR, the Development Company of the São Francisco and Parnaíba Valleys (Codevasf) presented 5 works that include investments for Macapá, Santana and Oiapoque, which already have federal resources allocated by the senator David Alcolumbre. Are they:
- Revitalization of the Josmar Chaves Pinto Highway (formerly JK);
- Revitalization of the waterfront and Santana shopping center;
- Revitalization of the edge of the Perpétuo Socorro and Cidade Nova neighborhoods, in Macapá;
- Paving of the Manga branch, in Oiapoque;
- Creation of Amaparque, in Macapá.
“It was a day of hard work, a meeting that opened up many horizons and the possibilities of the ministry for Amapá. I’m very grateful. We gain a lot from this look, mainly due to the regional differences that, in a country as big as ours, deepen in our region”declared the governor.
The National Secretariat for Regional and Territorial Development Policies also presented 2 programs that can benefit Amapá.
One of them is the Development and Integration of the Border Strip, considering the strategic position of Amapá next to French Guiana. Possibilities such as Land Border Duty Free Store and Fish Industrial Pole in the northern region of the state were listed.
“Soon we hope to sign a commitment to draw up a border development plan. By doing this in Amapá, we will be able to replicate this in other regions of the country”commented the minister Waldez Goes.
The other initiative is called “Routes of National Integration”. The intention is to work on the use of local products, such as açaí and cassava, to integrate them into national trade and help to develop potential products, such as drugs and herbal medicines.
The governor Clecio Luis took advantage of the third working meeting held with the MIDR this year with Amapá to address water security, especially the Bailique Archipelago, and how the federal government can help the State to provide assistance to the region.
“We are concerned about the Bailique situation, which has immense potential, but this must be a mission for Brazil since the mouth of the Amazon River is a region of interest even for the world community. The transversality of actions must be defended, because whatever goes wrong there can have an impact on the entire Amazon. This will be on our radar.”promised the minister.
