Manaus (AM) – The first month of the year is marked by the White January campaign, which highlights the importance of mental health care. One of the pillars of the national movement is to encourage people to seek professional support when necessary, whether from doctors, psychiatrists or psychologists.

In Manaus, the community can count on the support of Afya Educação Médica, which offers free care in the specialty of Psychiatry. The consultations are part of the practical activities of the postgraduate courses offered by the institution and take place, every month, according to the class schedule, at the headquarters of Afya Educação Médica, on Avenida André Araújo, 2767, Aleixo neighborhood.

People who need assistance can contact us at (92) 99379-9297. It is necessary to present a referral from the Unified Health System (SUS) or the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS).

The director of the Manaus unit, Suelen Falcão Gonçalves, highlights that at the institution people have access to qualified care, provided by doctors who are pursuing postgraduate studies in the area, with the support of specialist professionals.

“Our students learn, have contact with real cases and, in return, the population receives support”,

explains.

In addition to Psychiatry, Afya Medical Education offers services in five other specialties in Manaus: Neuropediatrics, Nutrology, Dermatology, Endocrinology and General Pediatrics.
