But who was Abby Choi?

28-year-old model Abby Choi was born and raised in Hong Kong, China. Her Chinese name was Choi Tin Fung, but like many natives of Asian countries, she used an English name in the West. Coming from a wealthy family with business in the construction area, the socialite had a heritage of around 700 million dollars, which may be the reason for the crime.

With followers all over the world, she has established herself as a producer of fashion content using luxury pieces from brands such as Dior, Gucci, Chanel and Valentino. The influencer used to be invited to the main fashion shows and gala events of the big fashion brands. A week before her death, Abby Choi posted photos at a Dior show during Paris Fashion Week.

In addition, the model was featured in publications of magazines such as “Vogue” and “Elle”. In February, Choi graced the cover of Monaco’s “L’Officiel”, which portrayed her as one of the fashion industry’s most sought-after influencers.

Relationship with the accused

Abby Choi was the mother of four children. The two eldest – aged 8 and 10 – are the children of Alex Kwong, arrested for the murder, whom she married when she was 18. The other two are from the last companion, Tam Chuck.

Even after divorcing Kwong, Choi stayed in touch with his relatives and gave his former in-laws a luxury apartment. Furthermore, her ex-husband’s brother Anthony Kwong was her personal driver and business partner. Investigations point out that the model would have been murdered by the family due to financial disputes.
