The new relationship of businesswoman and producer Babi Cruz, Arlindo Cruz’s wife for 35 years, has been under the spotlight on social networks since last Thursday, when it was confirmed by the former flag bearer. Babi has received criticism for the fact that she is still married to Arlindo, who since 2017 has been living in a delicate state after suffering a stroke. She is dating the carioca businessman André Caetano.

André owns a pizzeria in Rocinha, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. He is the father of three children – two girls and a boy, from other relationships. The samba school of André’s heart is Mangueira, unlike Babi, who supports Mocidade.

On social networks, the content he publishes has a lot to do with his work. But he also posts photos and videos of himself that have recently been liked by Babi. This Tuesday morning, however, André’s profile on social networks was “blank”, deactivated: no profile picture and all publications deleted.

In four days, since the relationship with Babi became public, André made his profile on the social network public and gained more than 4,000 followers, totaling 14,200.

Babi Cruz and André Caetano met during last year’s elections, when she ran for a seat as a state deputy in Rio. On the same occasion that she confirmed the new relationship, she assured that Arlindo remains her priority.

Married for 35 years to Arlindo Cruz, Babi Cruz has already forgiven her husband’s betrayal. At the peak of his career, the sambista had a son out of wedlock, Kauan Felipe, now 30 years old, who lives with his father’s family and was always well received by Babi. At the time she discovered her husband’s “jumping fence”, she chose to continue the relationship.

Babi, 61, is the mother of Arlindo’s two other children: singer Arlindinho, 31, and influencer Flora Cruz, 20. Kauan usually goes to his father’s house, in Rio, and always visits him. He also had a good relationship with his brothers and participated in the Império Serrano parade, which paid homage to Arlindo Cruz.

The story of Arlindo’s betrayal has now surfaced, after Babi started dating André Caetano.

Babi became the target of criticism on the web for assuming the new relationship at a time when Arlindo is in a wheelchair and having speech difficulties, consequences of a stroke he suffered in 2017.

Journalist Driele Veiga made a video remembering that Arlindo had a child out of wedlock and defending Babi’s right to have a boyfriend.

In the video, Driele recalls that Babi remained married to Arlindo even having discovered his child out of wedlock, at the height of the sambista’s career.
