Inclusive Cinema: Shopping de Manaus will have cinema session for autistic people

Manaus (AM) — Autistic children, teenagers and adults will benefit from two inclusive cinema sessions at Cinépolis at Shopping Ponta Negra, this March. On display will be the animation “Kung Fu Panda 2”, which will be shown in a movie theater subject to harmonization of lighting and sound to adapt it to the sensory sensitivity of this audience.

Held monthly since last year in the shopping center in the West Zone of Manaus, the inclusive cinema session is aimed at people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other syndromes, disorders or diseases that cause sensory hypersensitivity, in general.

This March’s sessions will take place on the last two weekends of the month. The first of them will take place next Saturday (23rd) and the next one is scheduled for March 30th, starting at 3pm. Access is free for people with autism and the companion pays half price and must present the report or identification card formalizing the autistic person’s condition.

The inclusive session reinforces the schedule of events at Shopping Ponta Negra, this March, which features two photographic exhibitions and the arrival of the Easter Bunny, which also takes place next Saturday.

We have the “Elas” exhibition, signed by photographer Wesley Andrade and is a tribute to women, we have the exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Federal Police, in addition to the special event of the arrival of the Easter Bunny. The inclusive session makes up this package for the family to enjoy the weekend”,

To make the movie theater suitable for the sensitivity of people with ASD, Shopping Ponta Negra explains that the Cinépolis theaters follow some protocols, such as a 50% reduction in lighting and the sound volume is also reduced throughout the session.
