In a video, Huck defines himself as politically ambidextrous and defends right and left ideas – 04/13/2024 – Panel

Presenter Luciano Huck posted this Saturday (13) a video in which he argues that it is possible to identify with ideas from the right and the left and in which he makes an analogy with football, arguing that, just as Messi is ambidextrous on the field, it is also possible “kick with both feet” in politics.

In the video, Huck remembers that, on the internet, anyone who doesn’t fit into either side is called “exempt”. “Other people call it liberal,” he continues. “What’s important to me is to think that, when we close ourselves off in a right-wing or left-wing box, we also close ourselves off from a lot of good ideas that come from one side or the other.”

Afterwards, the presenter emphasizes that there is no problem in identifying with one of the two sides, but says he is “ambidextrous in life”. “Because I’m open to replacing my idea with yours if yours is better,” he says.

Huck lists examples of themes that permeate both political spectrums, such as the fight for equality between men and women and the encouragement of entrepreneurship, the defense that everyone has the right to love who they want, regardless of gender, and the open market, the privatization and efficiency of state-owned companies.

“It is possible to believe that we need to look for renewable sources, clean energy, at the same time as we can defend freedom of expression”, he states. The presenter emphasizes the defense of dictatorships. “It’s dictatorship, I’m against it.”

At the end, the presenter cited comments that would be published in the video in which he would be called a communist and a capitalist. “But it’s okay. It doesn’t bother me to be bothered and beaten from both sides. We, who don’t fit into any of those boxes, are many.”
