‘I can handle it’, says Diniz about working at Flu and the national team – 11/04/2023 – Sports

Coach Fernando Diniz said this Saturday (4) after winning the Copa Libertadores that he can “handle” the accumulation of duties when taking over the Brazilian team.
Diniz criticized those who claimed that the accumulation could harm Fluminense, champion of the South American tournament over Boca Juniors.
“It’s a lot of work for me, but I can handle it.. Who had this opinion? [de que não seria possível comandar a equipe e a seleção] You have to maintain your opinion,” he said.
The coach has already led the team in four games, with two wins, one draw and one defeat.
“When I received the invitation I knew what an immense responsibility it was and what a great honor it was. I didn’t think at any point about declining the invitation. The only thing I had was that I wouldn’t leave Fluminense at that moment. The CBF’s proposal was not that I would leave Fluminense”, said Diniz.
The Libertadores was the coach’s second title in his 15-year career, 6 of them at the helm of big clubs (Athletico, Fluminense, São Paulo, Santos and Vasco). The first was also this year, at the Rio de Janeiro State Championship.
