The government headquarters is named “Palácio Rio Mutuacá”
Governor Clécio Luis transferred the headquarters of the Palace of the Government of the State of Amapá to Mazagão Velho, as a strengthening of management and a tribute to the historic village that receives this month the traditional Feast of São Tiago. The opening took place this Saturday, 22.
The novelty highlights a municipalist government, leading an agenda that values and enhances local and regional attractions. The government headquarters is named “Palácio Rio Mutuacá”, where the Public Administration will hold meetings and make decisions, in addition to receiving authorities and community leaders. The venue will have its own office hours in Vila de Mazagão Velho, from July 22 to 25, 2023.
Mutuacá is the name of the river that is part of the cultural heritage of Vila Mazagão Velho. That’s how the 163 families transferred from Mazagão Africana, a Portuguese colony in Morocco that was deactivated, arrived in Brazil. In July and August, the river becomes the stage for the festivities of Nossa Senhora da Piedade and Divino Espírito Santo.
