Quoted for ministry have alignments opposed to Lula – 07/22/2023 – Panel

Quoted to take over ministries in the Lula government, deputies Silvio Costa Filho (Republicans-PE) and André Fufuca (PP-MA) differ in their alignments with PT agendas.

Son of Silvio Costa, Lula’s ally, Silvinho reported on the Central Bank’s autonomy project, one of the few disagreements with the PT, who has already stated several times that he would like to review the change. On social networks, Silvio Costa Filho advertises the Lula administration and publicly expressed support for the current president even before his victory over Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

The deputy has a voting record that follows the government, even if it means diverging from the majority of the party, as occurred in the appreciation of the time frame for the demarcation of indigenous lands – the deputy was one of four Republicans who voted against the text, out of a total of 37 votes counted.

André Fufuca was one of the 37 PP deputies who voted in favor of the same project – four were against and the mayor, Arthur Lira (AL), did not vote because he was in charge of the House. During the Bolsonaro government, the deputy did not vote on two issues that are important to the former president’s agenda: home education and printed voting. Silvio Costa Filho, on the other hand, voted in favor of the first project and against the Bolsonarist proposal.

Allied with former mayor Eduardo Cunha (today in the PTB), responsible for accepting the impeachment request against Dilma Rousseff (PT) in 2015, Fufuca voted in favor of dismissing the PT.

“On behalf of the party unity of the Progressive Party, of the thousands of people who were deceived by the Premium Refinery, of the thousands of people who mourned the death of their loved ones on the BR-75, in the name of this State that I carry on my back and in my heart, looking at you and my dear Alto Alegre, I say to the people of Maranhão and the people of Brazil that I vote ‘yes'”, he said in April 2016.

On his social networks, Fufuca is a good example of the ability of parliamentarians from the center to point to different political spectrums: he mixes expressions of support for Jair Bolsonaro with praise for the former governor of Maranhão and today Lula’s Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino.
