Corruption accusation

Gladson Cameli (PP) was denounced, this Thursday (30), on suspicion of commanding bid fraud since 2019

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) asked the Supreme Court of Justice (STJ), this Thursday (30), to remove the governor of Acre, Gladson Cameli (PP), on suspicion of running a bid fraud scheme, with an estimated loss of R$150 million. Minister Nancy Andrighi will be responsible for the decision.

In a note sent to the local press, Gladson Cameli, who is in Dubai for COP28, states that he will continue to fulfill his obligations as governor of Acre and is available to clarify the accusations.

The complaint was filed last Tuesday (28). In addition to the governor, the PGR appointed 12 other people for crimes of embezzlement, corruption, money laundering and criminal organization.

According to the document filed by Deputy Attorney General of the Republic Carlos Frederico Santos, Gladson Cameli has run a fraud scheme in at least eight tenders since 2019.

Another request for removal had already been made against Gladson Cameli, but denied by Nancy Andrighi. The Federal Police (PF) and the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), later this year, filed the request, in addition to requesting the preventive detention of Eladio Cameli and Eladio Cameli Júnior, the governor’s father and brother, respectively.
