The governor Clécio Luís received, on Tuesday the 5th, representatives of the Portuguese company MeterBooster, which is setting up shop in Amapá to manufacture lithium batteries, a modern and sustainable alternative used in solar energy systems. The installation of the factory will stimulate the generation of jobs and income in the state, boosting the local economy.

The head of the state Executive signed as a witness the pre-contract signed between the Portuguese group and the company Minasol, which has already been operating in Amapá for six years in the solar energy sector.

“Today is a very special and important day for the economy of Amapá. I am having the honor of welcoming here the representative of Minasol and Meterbooster, a company that manufactures lithium batteries, a more modern material in terms of energy storage. It is a Portuguese company that is coming to Amapá at the invitation of Minasol to join these economic development projects with sustainable parameters”highlighted Clécio Luís.

More savings and sustainability
Meterboost is a pioneer in the production of lithium batteries that, in addition to being more sustainable, are five times more economical than traditional solutions. The CEO of Minasol, Abdias Pontes, explains that the installation of solar panels can guarantee a gain of 25% per year in a family’s energy bill. By combining batteries to ensure storage for self-consumption, it is possible to increase this budget savings to at least 50%, depending on investment and consumption.

“New technologies, sustainable development and, above all, job and income generation. This is what will make the state improve and grow!”highlights Pontes.

Bilateral Partnerships
Focusing on sustainable development partnerships, the Government of Amapá has expanded international dialogues. During Startup20, an event that made the Amazonian state the world headquarters for innovation and technology, Clécio Luís presented local potential to representatives of startups and public bodies from South Africa, the United States and Germany.
