Right at the beginning of his government, President Lula (PT) was already preparing changes to the State-Owned Companies Law to accommodate political allies and government parliamentarians who were not elected on the administrative councils of public companies. According to the newspaper Economic valuethe Secretariat of Legal Affairs (SAJ) of the Civil House, with the support of the Advocacy General of the Union (AGU), prepares a proposal to be presented to Congress.

The idea, according to the publication, is for the project to be forwarded to an allied senator who would present the text to replace the proposal approved by the Chamber at the last minute at the end of last year. At the time, the Senate did not evaluate the project after the negative repercussions in the financial market. If the new proposal presented by the government is approved, it returns to the House and later goes to presidential approval.

According to the newspaper, it has not yet been defined whether the easing of access to public office in state-owned companies will be total or partial. Initially, the idea is to open spaces on the administrative boards of public companies, which would encompass about 317 positions to accommodate political allies, without further restrictions. If the proposal is also extended to management positions, there would be 272 more positions, which would give a total of 589 vacancies available.
