The Government of Amapá participated in the Forum of the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (Confap), in Brasilia. For three days, the event brought together the largest scientific institutions in Brazil to debate topics such as bioeconomy, international cooperation and financing. Amapá’s presence at the meeting is aligned with the objectives of the Government Plan to strengthen institutions focused on science and innovation.
At the forum, which ended on Friday, the 15th, representatives of the State Foundation for Research Support in Amapá (Fapeap) reinforced their commitment to scientific development, the advancement of research and the dissemination of knowledge.
According to the entity’s CEO, Gutemberg Silva, the event provided the exchange of information and established common agendas to face current and future challenges in the area, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and continuous investment in science, technology and innovation for the country’s sustainable development.
“Among the topics discussed, we evaluated the improvement of the transfer format and financial distribution of federal resources allocated to foundations, in addition to investments in the infrastructure of entities across the country”Silva pointed out.
The meeting was also attended by state secretaries of Science and Technology, presidents and technical teams of the 27 State Research Support Foundations, as well as representatives of entities and agencies that support the sector, both national and international.
More cooperation
The meeting takes place at a time when the Government of Amapá is investing in science and innovation as an alternative for sustainable development. In February, the State supported the Startup20 event, which allowed the strengthening of relations with countries such as South Africa, Germany and the United States, in search of international partnerships.
