Manaus (AM) – The Government of Amazonas, through the head of the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), Serafim Corrêa, and the Secretary of Energy, Mining and Gas (Semig), Ronney Peixoto, accompanied, this Tuesday- fair (9), in Porto Chibatão, located in the Colônia Oliveira Machado neighborhood, South Zone of Manaus, the arrival of the first ship from China, containing tubes destined for the Azulão 950 Thermoelectric Complex, owned by the natural gas concession company Evena, in Silves ( 204 kilometers from the capital). The plants will have the capacity to supply 3.8 million homes.

According to Serafim Corrêa, this project is important for the internalization of economic development, as it is being implemented in Silves for the Tucuruí-Macapá-Manaus interconnection, better known as Linhão de Tucuruí and continuing throughout Brazil.

“We are here to welcome a ship that came from China bringing the first shipment of parts and pieces destined for the Azulão plant. The ship is called Koga Solution and it brought the gas pipeline tubes that will connect one point to another”, he pointed out.

Serafim highlighted that the thermoelectric complex, which encompasses the Azulão I and II thermoelectric plants, will, together, have an installed capacity of 950 MW. “With the operation of the Azulão plant, Amazonas will become an exporter of cleaner energy than that generated by diesel, thus marking the path of the energy transition. The government of Amazonas supports and attracts structuring investments like this one from Eneva”, he stated.

The Semig owner explained that the material that arrived at the Chibatão port will travel on four ferries to Silves. In total, an average of 25 ships are planned to bring turbines, generators and boilers.

“We are experiencing this moment, which is historic for Amazonas, the first ship with Eneva material, which then goes on four ferries to Silves. This project is very important for the development of Amazonas, Silves, Itapiranga and other municipalities, bringing quality of life to the population, employment, work and business opportunities”, said Ronney.

On March 25 of this year, governor Wilson Lima and the natural gas concession company Eneva announced an investment of R$5.8 billion in the Azulão field, located in the municipality of Silves (204 kilometers from Manaus). According to the plan released by Eneva, two thermoelectric plants will be built, with the promise of generating 5 thousand jobs.

According to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), Amazonas has the largest onshore gas reserves in the country, which represents great potential for the state, considering the advancement in use in commercial enterprises, residential units, industries and vehicles. .
