Government intensifies work to renovate and maintain the Bumbódromo de Parintins

In the final stretch, teams work in three shifts to speed up services

Manaus (AM) – There are only six days left for the biggest folkloric festival on the planet to take place and the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat for Infrastructure (Seinfra), is intensifying the renovation and maintenance works of the Cultural Center of Parintins, the Bumbódromo, which will receive the 56th Folk Festival, from June 30th to July 2nd this year.

To speed up the services, the teams of the Government of Amazonas work in three shifts. The work has an investment of R$ 3.2 million and is generating around 90 direct and indirect jobs.

Preventive and corrective maintenance services are being carried out throughout the arena and in the adjacent building, including general painting; review of hydraulic and electrical installations; replacement of metal platbands in the entrance hall; revitalization of the bleachers with waterproofing and installation of gutters, flashing and PVC lining in the corridors on the sides of the Bumbás Caprichoso and Garantido.

Also included are the structural revision of the stands and the coverage of the side boxes at Caprichoso and Garantido; review and expansion of the fire and panic detection and fighting facilities and the oxen inspectors’ room; in addition to the reform of the multipurpose rooms, which during the year function as theater rooms, music theory, among others.

In addition to the items that require annual interventions, such as preventive maintenance of generators and the substation, services were carried out to install laminate flooring on the fifth and sixth floors; in addition to carrying out improvements in the area intended for PwD.

At this stage, painting services are in progress; waterproofing of stands; installation of a protective flashing between the special bleachers and the Lyceum building; installation of new electrical panels and circuit breakers at the substation; implementation of lighting in the arena towers, with projectors of greater power and better performance; and testing the arena’s emergency sound and lighting generators.

According to the secretary of Seinfra, Carlos Henrique Lima, the renovation of the Bumbódromo is carried out annually and will provide more security for the entire population, in addition to offering services that benefit the environment as a whole and guarantee energy efficiency for the festival.

“We are in the final stages of maintaining the Bumbódromo and everything is being carefully prepared so that this, which is the largest open-air folkloric festival in the world, can offer a quality infrastructure, guaranteeing the safety of everyone involved in this very important festival of the Brazilian culture”

said the holder of the folder.
