The government of President Lula (PT) decided, this Friday (14th), that game days for the Brazilian team in the Women’s World Cup will be an optional point for civil servants.
Servers may be absent during the match and up to two hours after its end.
The Brazilian team will play three games in this first phase, but only one falls on the weekend — the 29th, against France.
The first game is scheduled for Monday (24), at 8am, against Panama.
This is the first time that there is an optional point in the championship disputed by women — something traditional in the World Cup for men’s teams.
The decision was taken by Lula this Friday, after a request from Minister Ana Moser (Sport).
The ordinance should come out next week, signed by Minister Esther Dweck (Management).
