The acting governor, Teles Júnior, inaugurated the 32 new members of the State Council of Science, Technology and Innovation of Amapá (Consecti) this Monday, 5th. Now, the 16 members and 16 substitutes will be able to assist the State in promoting public policies that strengthen the sector. The ceremony was held in the plenary session of Deputy Dalton Martins, at the Legislative Assembly (Alap).

The new advisors represent the 16 institutions that form the Amapá Integrated Research Network (Ripap) and the Amapá Innovation Network (Renova). During his inauguration, Teles Júnior reinforced the Government’s commitment to the development of science and technology.

“We have state and federal research institutions operating in the state, and it is very important that they are all aligned with a single objective. So, the challenge for this council is to be able to formulate public policy guidelines that allow us to integrate what is produced in educational institutions with what companies have offered on the market”, reinforced the manager.

The inauguration of the counselors was coordinated by the State Secretariat for Science and Technology (Setec), which celebrated the consolidation of the deliberative body as a great victory for Amapá society.

“Now we will have an organized space, which brings together several science, research and innovation institutions, to coordinate and formulate public policies aimed at the development of the state. Amapá has great potential in this area and we hope that the council can be this link of integration between the formulation of public policies and the institutions that generate knowledge, create businesses, products, services and wealth for the state”, highlighted Edivan Andrade, Secretary of Science and Technology of Amapá.

The consolidation of the State Council was possible with the work of state deputy, Edna Auzier, author of the bill to restructure the body.

“It is a great satisfaction to be able to contribute to the development of the state. We made the request for the reactivation of the council, in addition, we restructured the decree establishing the body, which needed improvements in relation to the purposes and objectives and, mainly, to include important bodies that were not making up the body”, Edna explained.

The term of office of the new counselors extends until 2026, and marks the State Government’s continuous effort to promote actions to strengthen the sector.

The council will aim to call on civil society in Amapá to participate in the formulation of public policies and programs aimed at the scientific, technological and innovative development of the state. The institution was restructured based on Law 2,754, of August 25, 2022, and has a permanent and deliberative consultative nature.

Tributes

During the inauguration ceremony for the new members of Consecti, the Government of Amapá also honored all former Setec managers with the presentation of trophies in recognition of the important work they performed to promote the growth and strengthening of science, technology and innovation in Amapá .

For Davi Nobre, 14 years old, son of former secretary Robério Aleixo Anselmo Nobre, it was an honor to receive the tribute paid to his father, now deceased, who worked at Setec from 2016 to 2017.

“I’m very grateful that they didn’t forget my father, who was one of the pioneers in bringing new ideas about science, technology and innovation to our state”, highlighted the young man.
