Manaus (AM) – The development of the Manaus Free Trade Zone was discussed in a meeting, held last Friday (2), with the coordinator of the International Relations Center of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Amazonas (Nuriam/Aleam), state deputy João Luiz (Republicans ), and the superintendent of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa), Bosco Saraiva, at the headquarters of the federal authority, in the Industrial District, in Manaus.

The meeting was also attended by the deputy coordinator of Nuriam, the professor and president of the Brazil/China Sociocultural Institute (Ibrachina), Dr. Thomas Law, professor Neibe Araújo, secretary general of the Center, representative of Ibrachina, Ana Law and the president of the Organization of Business and Professional Women and attorney, Dr. Grace Benayon.

“We discussed Suframa’s demands, we talked about companies in the Manaus Free Trade Zone, development research, tax reform, the IT law and possible Chinese investments in the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM)”,

said deputy João Luiz.

Nuriam representatives met, also on Friday (2), with the rector of the State University of Amazonas (UEA), Prof. Dr. André Zogahib, with the aim of discussing public policies for academics, in addition to educational issues and Brazil-China relations.
