Government announces tender for works on the new Emergency Hospital in Macapá – News of Brazil

The governor Clecio Luis announced this Tuesday, the 4th, that it is authorized to bid for the works of the new Emergency Hospital (HE) from Macapa. More than will be invested BRL 110 million in the structure that will expand the capacity for urgent and emergency care in the public network. The resources are from amendments articulated by the senator David Alcolumbre.

Now, interested companies have 60 working days to submit proposals for building the structure, which will be located in an area where the Vila Militar used to operate and was donated by the Brazilian Army, behind the current building of the current HE, in the center of the capital. The project is expected to start in 2023.

“We have just published the tender for the construction of the new HE in the Official Gazette. I want to share my joy with the people of Amapá because we are going to change the entire history of public health in Macapá and the entire state. I made this commitment in the campaign, I made this commitment as a manager to restore dignity to those who seek public health care. I also want to thank Senator Davi Alcolumbre, for all the struggle for three years to start this work”celebrated the governor Clecio Louis.

With the new emergency room, the public health network will adapt to the growth of the population of Amapa, which currently exceeds 750,000 inhabitants.

The project is considered the largest health work in the state. There are more than 15,000 m² of area for expanding the services provided, initially expanding to 212 beds in the total structure, including clinical, intensive and intermediate care, in addition to specific beds in the Burn Treatment Unit.

“This hospital will change the lives of thousands of people from Amapá who are dreaming of this work. To provide the population with a decent emergency and urgent care”said the senator David Alcolumbre.

New Emergency Hospital

When completed, the structure will be the gateway to urgencies and emergencies in the state and will handle highly complex cases, being framed by the Ministry of Health (MS) in the Large Hospital category.

The project includes six operating rooms, four of which are multispecialty; dialysis services; Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Graphic Methods (with areas for radiology, hemodynamics, tomography, ultrasound, resonance and endoscopy).

There will also be technical support environments (for laboratories and sectors such as Nutrition and Pharmacy), as well as spaces for administration, an auditorium and multipurpose rooms and committees.

A parking lot with 110 spaces for vehicles (with bike rack and space for motorcycles) is planned, in addition to a heliport and access ramps.
