This Monday (01) former UFC athlete from Amapa, Felipe Colares, known as ‘Felipe Cabocão’, aged 29, died after being hit by a bus in Rio de Janeiro. He was returning from his training when he was hit, on Avenida Duas América, in the West Zone of Rio.
According to the coach from Amapa, Rodrigo Babi, the fighter was attended by the Fire Department, but ended up not resisting his injuries, as he was in serious condition, and died on the way to the hospital.
Cabocão had a record of 11 wins and four losses in MMA and was a Jungle Fight featherweight champion in 2017. He also had six fights in the UFC between 2019 and 2022 and had debuted with a victory this year at the European event Ares FC. The fighter from Amapa, who trained with the Team Nogueira team and lived in Rio de Janeiro, leaves his wife Jaqueline and a six-month-old son.
