Action investigates tampering with vaccination card
Former President Jair Bolsonaro is one of the targets of Operation Verine, which investigates tampering with vaccination cards, this Wednesday morning (3). The former president’s residence was the target of one of the search and seizure warrants carried out by the Federal Police. The agents also collected Bolsonaro’s cell phone.
“I never said that I took the vaccine [de covid-19]. I was never asked for a vaccination card in the US”, said the former president as he left his residence, accompanied by his defense lawyers.
Sixteen search and seizure warrants and six preventive arrest warrants are being served in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro.
Among the six arrested this morning is Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former assistant to former President Jair Bolsonaro. The information was confirmed by the defense of the former advisor.
In a note, the corporation informed that it is also analyzing the material seized during the searches and conducting interviews with people who have information about the case.
“The false insertions, which occurred between November 2021 and December 2022, resulted in the alteration of the truth about a legally relevant fact, that is, the condition of immunization against covid-19 of the beneficiaries”, highlighted the PF.
