Former CBF director asks for Ednaldo’s removal – 01/08/2024 – Panel

Former Director of Heritage at the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation), Luísa Rosa presented this Sunday (7) a request to the entity’s Ethics Committee for the president, Ednaldo Rodrigues, and the Director of Governance and Compliance, Hélio, to be removed from their positions. Menezes Jr.

Rosa, fired last year by Ednaldo, is filing a lawsuit against the CBF for moral and sexual harassment, requesting compensation of R$1.8 million. She was the first female director in the history of the confederation.

“This report of an ethical violation denounces a pattern of conduct that, unfortunately, is very common in Brazilian society, including the CBF, more specifically in the management of the First Respondent [Ednaldo]. This is the unacceptable, criminal and reprehensible harassment that women suffer in a work environment dominated by men”, writes the former director in the notice of ethical infraction sent to the Commission, the body responsible for investigating complaints. .

She says that any internal investigation into the accusations by the CBF itself will be compromised if the two mentioned remain in their positions.

The former director reports in the piece that her duties were emptied by Ednaldo shortly after taking office, in April 2022.

It also states that the president installed a spy center at the entity’s headquarters, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio, with hidden cameras placed on the ceiling of the cafeteria.

She adds that she worked in a toxic environment for women, being forced to deal with comments about prostitutes, flirting and invitations to meet outside of working hours.

Ednaldo was away from the presidency of the CBF for just under a month due to a decision by the Rio de Janeiro Court, but returned to his position last week thanks to an injunction from Minister Gilmar Mendes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court).

The CBF did not comment on the accusations.
