Forgotten celebrity – News of Brazil

Amapá, historically, tends not to worship memories. In fact, the very Janary Nunes There is officially nothing in Amapá that commemorates what it was and represented for all of us. For years, a Memorial landmark has been promised in honor of the first governor of the federal territory, but the promise has not even been put on paper, until now. Meanwhile, highways, streets, roads, squares and buildings are named after ordinary people, who did little or nothing, or even nothing, for our general good, to the detriment of celebrities who publicly exposed themselves in defense of this part of Brazil.

In the midst of Macapá’s birthday, which is always very well celebrated, we regret the injustice we do to the former President of Brazil and senator from Amapá, for three consecutive times, José Sarney, from Maranhão who, during his mandates in the Upper Chamber of the Republic, acted as a statesman in relation to the Tucuju federative unit, recognizing the potential that exists here, and creating the basis for everything to be transformed into power. However, to this day, we have barely grasped the importance of this politician for us, and even less have we known how to develop the vision of the future that he implemented here.

Now, José Sarney approved the Micro and Small Business Statute and the Macapá and Santana Free Trade Area. At the same time, that is, at the same time as he established these two points for the development of the local economy, the senator created a project for the free distribution of medicines to people with HIV, which became an international reference. Realizing the importance of the Port of Santana for the international transport of wealth, he brought the rules of the Port of Manaus here.

It was from José Sarney, as a senator from Amapá, he authored the first proposal for racial quotas presented in the National Congress, having worked on the Regional Development Plan for the Municipalities Surrounding the Parque Montanhas do Tumucumaque. The National Book Policy and the Assistance Fund for Victims of Violence have his contribution, which also brought Linhão do Tucuruí to the state, extended the Sarah Kubitschek hospital network and created the Green Free Zone.

The brilliant senator Sarney he even joined the ‘world of immortals’, in defense of here, by writing, editing and publishing the literary work ‘Amapá: the land where Brazil begins’. In fact, this is where our country began or begins. Despite this or because of this, it would be good if we started to worship the memory of the celebrities who truly contributed and those who contribute to putting our state at the forefront of Brazil and the world.
