New columnists and bloggers start writing for the Sheet this week. Among the novelties are the North American journalist Glenn Greenwald, who writes fortnightly texts, and pages that will address taxation, children’s literature and autism.

Mother of two children, one of them autistic, journalist Johanna Nublat runs the blog Vidas Atípicas starting this Sunday (19). The page will bring together interviews and exchange of knowledge about autism spectrum disorder.

“I would like this space to be open to talk about the daily life of atypical lives, about vulnerabilities, yes, but also the potential of people on the autistic spectrum, and that they themselves can talk about these topics.”

The blog Era Outra Vez is re-launching after just over three years, with weekly texts on children’s books, reviews and interviews.

The space is edited by Bruno Molinero, 32, who worked at Sheet as a reporter for Folhinha, editor of the Panel das Letras column and editor of the Guide.

The blog, he says, will also be written for Folhinha readers. “It’s inside the ‘Everybody Reads Together’ seal, for a mediated reading.”

Signed by Market reporter Eduardo Cucolo, the Que Imposto é Esse blog will also debut this Sunday and will feature interviews, analyzes and information on the proposals for tax reform on consumption and income that are being discussed in Congress, in addition to other topics related to the tax area, for people in the legal world and readers in general.

The Lula government intends to approve two proposals this year. The first unifies the main taxes on consumption, such as ICMS and IPI. The second changes Income Tax rules and should deal with the end of the exemption on profits and dividends. Changes in employer contributions to Social Security can also be analyzed.

“It is a change that affects all income brackets and all professional sectors. But the complexity of our tax system makes this discussion difficult to understand, even for those who work in the area”, says the journalist.

Economist Priscilla Bacalhau and anthropologist Juliano Spyer started writing opinion articles on page A2 and also on the newspaper’s website.

Researcher at FGV/EESP Clear, which assists the governments of Brazil and Portuguese-speaking Africa in the management of public policies, Priscilla Bacalhau intends to address the issue of education, which is her expertise, and issues of public policy.

Juliano Spyer has been writing in the digital version since February 2022. Now, his columns will be published in print.

Anthropologist and researcher at Cecons/UFRJ, published in 2021 the book “People of God: Who Are the Evangelicals and Why They Matter” (Editorial Generation), which was nominated for the Jabuti award.

Spyer is also the creator of the Evangelical Observatory, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help inform journalists on matters related to evangelical Christianity.

The changes also include Wilson Gomes, 59, who debuted at Ilustrada, after being a columnist for Ilustríssima. Doctor in philosophy from the Pontifical University São Tomás de Aquino, in Rome, and professor of communication theory at UFBA (Federal University of Bahia), he is one of the coordinators of Ceadd, the Center for Advanced Studies in Digital Democracy, of the faculty of communication from UFBA.

At Ilustríssima, in addition to Greenwald, the list of columnists will undergo other changes. Juliana de Albuquerque’s texts, now on Tuesdays on the site, are now published on Thursdays. One of them will also appear monthly in the print edition of Ilustríssima, with its premiere on March 12. Articles by Jorge Coli, head professor of art history at Unicamp, are now published on the newspaper’s website on Tuesdays.

Also this Sunday, Ilustríssima Conversa, a podcast of interviews with non-fiction book authors and intellectuals, is five years old.

In 2018, the Editorial Board “wanted to launch some content in this format as a novelty for Folha’s anniversary, which at that time did not have any podcasts”, recalls Uirá Machado, editor of Ilustríssima at the time.

Since its creation, 123 episodes have been published, addressing numerous relevant topics in the Brazilian and world context.

Sérgio Dávila, editorial director of the newspaper, says that “Ilustríssima Conversa, our first podcast of the ‘modern era’, paved the way for a range of products that brought the Folha brand to an audience that otherwise would not know the newspaper” .
