Fluminense renews contract with Martinelli until 2025

Fluminense agreed this Wednesday (18/01) to renew midfielder Martinelli. The 21-year-old midfielder, who had a contract until the end of 2024, signed a new contract valid until December 2025.
“The feeling is one of great gratitude for everything the club has offered me. I hope to live up to the heights and I will do my best whenever I’m here. Fluminense is my home, I came from Xerém and all the boys who come from there feel very comfortable here. I have to thank the club and the fans who always support us. I will always give my all for this shirt,” he said.
Revealed in Xerém, Martinelli was promoted to professionals during the 2020 Brasileirão. Since then, he has become an important part of the tricolor squad. The number 8 of Tricolor has 124 games (85 as a starter), five goals and nine assists, in addition to 73 decisive passes, 87% in pass accuracy, 112 accurate dribbles, 185 tackles, 115 interceptions and 544 recovered balls.
Before signing Martinelli, Fluminense had already agreed to extend the bonds of other important names for the team, such as striker Germán Cano, midfielders Paulo Henrique Ganso, Jhon Arias and Michel Araújo, midfielder André, right-back Samuel Xavier and defenders Manoel and David Braz, in addition to making official the stay of coach Fernando Diniz. In addition, Tricolor closed with seven reinforcements for the season: striker Keno, left-back Jorge, midfielder Lima, right-back Guga, defender Vitor Mendes, goalkeeper Vitor Eudes and attacking midfielder Giovanni.
