The flight that will rescue more Brazilians who are in the Gaza Strip took off early this Saturday morning (9) towards Egypt, according to the Brazilian Air Force.

The FAB KC-30 aircraft took off from Galeão Air Base, in Rio de Janeiro, at 5:08 am, bound for Cairo. The flight is expected to last 15 hours.

The takeoff was scheduled for last Thursday (7), but the Air Force explained that it was necessary to wait for authorization for the Brazilians to cross the border between Palestine and Egypt.

According to Brazil Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Representation Office in Ramallah, listed 102 Brazilians and close family members interested in repatriation from the Gaza Strip.

The Brazilian government is now awaiting authorization from the countries responsible for organizing the departure of foreigners from Gaza to begin the repatriation process.

The first wave of Brazilians who came from Gaza arrived in the country on November 13th, also on a flight that left Cairo towards Brazil.

The flight brought 22 Brazilians by birth, seven Palestinians naturalized Brazilians and three Palestinians with close family members
