Fired for mocking a young woman kidnapped by Hamas terrorists, the vice-president of the Brazil-Palestine Institute, writer and speaker, Sayid Tenório, was received by the president of Fundação Palmares, João Jorge Rodrigues, for a meeting during a “courtesy visit “, last week.

On his social networks, Tenório thanked the reception and recalled another occasion when he was received at the Foundation, in January this year, to participate in the “Seminário Diálogos Palmarinos”, which debated religious freedom.

During the visit on February 21st, Tenório presented the president of the Foundation with a copy of the Quran and a copy of his book: “Palestine – From the myth of the promised land to the land of resistance”.

In a video shared by Tenório, president João Rodrigues says that the book will be incorporated into the Foundation’s library collection.

In addition to the Palmares Foundation, Tenório has worked in other government sectors. In January, he participated in a round table promoted by the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship (MDHC) on “Religious Freedom and Secularity of the State”, in Brasília (DF).

Considered an extremist for the pro-terrorism positions he publicly defends, Tenório published records of his participation in the event on his social networks.

Hamas attack

On October 7, 2023, when commenting on the publication in which President Lula (PT), without mentioning Hamas, said he was “shocked” by the terrorist attacks on Israel, Tenório classified the PT member’s speech as “fake” and stated that “Palestinians have the right to resist the oppression and land theft that Israel has carried out for more than 75 years.”

In response to the writer’s comment, a profile on the social network X published a video in which a woman appears bloodied being taken hostage by Hamas terrorists.

In the video, the woman is removed from the trunk of a jeep and led by her hair to the back seat. The hostage has her hands tied and has blood stains on her buttocks. “What does civilian rape help Palestine with?” asked the profile to the writer.

Sayid retorted, “That’s shitty branding. Found it in his pants.” The comment was deleted some time later, but another profile retrieved the publication saved in a print and asked the writer: “Why did you delete the comment?”

After the episode, Tenório was fired from the office of deputy Márcio Jerry (PCdoB-MA). Tenório also held a position on the Chamber’s Committee to Defend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, chaired by Jerry.

The day before making the comment on social media, Sayid was received by the Minister of Institutional Relations of the Lula government, Alexandre Padilha, and presented him with a copy of his book.

It is worth remembering that Padilha (PT-SP) is among the PT members who signed a pro-Hamas letter in 2021. Asked about his support for the terrorist group, Padilha said that the document was signed in a pandemic context and repudiated the attacks on Israel .
