Felipão leaves Athletico and agrees with Atlético-MG; Turra also leaves

The Football Director athletic, Luiz Felipe Scolariagreed to be coach of the Atlético-MG. After denying in interviews that he would return to the role in Brazil, the gaucho heads to Minas Gerais to replace Eduardo Coudet, who resigned. The information was initially released by GE Minas Gerais.

Coach Paulo Turra also leaves Hurricane. The club, however, has not yet dealt with the loss of the two professionals.

Recently, the professional veteran had already received another proposal from a foreign team to return to being a coach. However, he denied it.

“I was probed with very good values, but I’m not going to do it. I want the situation that our president Petraglia gave us to be well executed by me”, declared Felipão at the time.

A strong man in Athletico’s football, Scolari recently complained about boos from the crowd in Baixada and the pressure on coach Paulo Turra.

Felipão landed at Hurricane in May last year to replace Fábio Carille. The five-time world champion had already been talking to the club, but to take a position in the management of Atletica football.
