For the experienced geologist Antônio da Justa Feijãothe change in the energy matrix from fossil fuels to so-called clean energy in Brazil goes beyond what has been announced around the world, considering, among other factors, that there is no market for the absorption of wind and photovoltaic energy.

World leaders predict that the transition from electrical energy produced by fossil fuels, derived from petroleum, to clean sources, will occur within 30 years, but Antônio da Justa Feijão thinks that this, in Brazil, goes further, and could reach even the 50 years.

The geologist sees that the country has more than one hundred million cars powered by petroleum derivatives, while, on the other hand, it has not even reached half a percent of electric and hydrogen cars. Feijão also notes that in Brazil there is a reduction in ethanol production, due to a lack of market.

“We are paying for this speech in a poor country that needs money for health, education, and other important sectors. How do you want to generate solar energy, having to have a subsidy paid by all Brazilians?”asked the specialist.

On the occasion, the geologist announced that Senator Lucas Barreto is moving to hold a public hearing with the purpose of effectively discussing the energy issue. According to him, it is necessary to find ways to ensure that in three years’ time the population will not have to pay their electricity bill with an increase of 70% or more.
