Federal Police chief Leandro Almada is the newest Citizen of the Amazon

Manaus (AM) – In a special session, this Friday (4th), Federal Police (PF) delegate Leandro Almada da Costa received the title of Amazonian Citizen from the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam). The homage to the delegate, former PF superintendent in the State, in 2021, was initiated by Deputy Delegate Péricles (PL). The granting of the title was conducted by Deputy João Luiz (Republicans).

Graduated in Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Uerj), Leandro Almada was from the Military Police of Minas Gerais; he was an Army soldier for four years before becoming, in 2008, a PF delegate. In 2021 he was appointed to the position of Superintendent of PF-AM. He is currently head of the PF-RJ Superintendence, which he took over last February.

Deputy João Luiz stated that the work carried out by Almada was highlighted by his zeal and extreme dedication to the public cause, and given this performance, which was an important contribution to security and progress in the state.

“Today, Casa do Povo gives him a second birth certificate, recognizing his work in defense of our people, of the unfeasible in the forest”,

said the parliamentarian, saying that, on behalf of the Amazonians and Delegate Péricles, he thanks them for their dedication to the population.

In his statement, the honoree stated that of all the honors and distinctions he has already received, the Title of Citizen of Amazonas is the greatest. This is due to identification with the state, said Almada, where he lived for 13 years, remembering that his son came to Amazonas at the age of four and left at 19; the delegate also stated that this was the place where he learned the most in the PF, dealing with and learning from a completely different reality.

“Honor is not in receiving an homage, honor is in deserving it.”

declared the newest Amazonian, highlighting the work carried out with teams and local bodies to seek the best for society.

The municipal secretary of Public Security of Manaus, the former superintendent of PF-AM, Sérgio Fontes, who was present at the event, gave a statement confirming the homage.

“The delegate Leandro receives the honor because he lends his talent and professionalism to make this region develop”,
