Manaus (AM) – A historic Saturday, a gathering of families, children, the elderly and people who went for the first time to see the newest addition to Manaus City Hall, the Lúcia Almeida viewing complex and Largo de São Vicente, at the beginning of 7 de Setembro, Centro, South Zone of Manaus

Opened last Thursday (4), the place was busy from early on, especially in the breakfast operations, which were packed. The director of Planning at the Municipal Institute of Urban Planning (Implurb), architect and urban planner Pedro Paulo Cordeiro, was following the movement and was immensely surprised by the movement of people of various age groups, giving the space a special touch of family atmosphere and rescue. of memory and vivacity.

“There was a great demand for operations around 11am and a lot of people visiting, enjoying the spaces and floors. And the population can rest assured that there are municipal guards here, agents from the Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU), guiding traffic, traffic and parking, and the reinforcement of the Military Police, with vehicles. The city council also reinforced the lighting around the roads until reaching the viewpoint and square”, explained Cordeiro.

Building technician Azimar Brasil went to see the new works delivered by the city hall and was delighted with what she found, considering the place to be the capital’s newest postcard. “An organized, fantastic environment, the experience and the wait for this work was worth it. There were police, agents, but what caught my attention the most was the third floor, looking at the river, appreciating nature. Manaus really needed a space like this”, she commented.

Lookout operations

With an architectural design by Implurb, the Lúcia Almeida viewpoint is the first vertical public space in the city. The building has more than five thousand meters of built area, 58 meters in length and four floors (ground floor and three more floors). In the coming days there will be more deployments and installations to be completed, such as the paracycles for space.

The city hall promotes not only artistic, cultural and public occupation of the viewpoint, but also commercial, having tendered several operations for the diversification of the new space. Based on public competition, the viewpoint has permission holders, businesspeople, entrepreneurs and traders, who will operate in stores, kiosks, snacks and restaurants.

Operation

The viewpoint has 11 commercial operations, from breakfast to snacks, restaurants, ice cream parlors and drinks, with opening hours throughout the day and night.

From Monday to Thursday, from 10am to 11pm, the space’s two restaurants (second floor), the snack kiosks, bar and hamburger shop (all on the third floor), ice cream shop (ground floor), and a pub-style store (all on the third floor) will be open. ground floor). On Friday and Saturday, the opening hours will be from 10 am to midnight. On Sunday, the viewpoint will be open from 10am to 10pm.

The only exception to the opening hours is for the coffee kiosks, one on the ground floor and the other on the third floor, opening from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 12pm and from 3pm to 8pm. On Saturdays and Sundays they will be open from 7am to 12pm and from 3pm to 9pm.

Largo de São Vicente

With an area completely created where there were previously abandoned and unused lots, São Vicente Square has a pedestrian-only passage, adding another 3,500 square meters of space to be used by everyone. The space is accessible and connects the works of “Our Center”, with exclusive parking for People with Disabilities (PWD), the elderly, pregnant women and the like. A playpet is also installed there.
