The Civil Police of Santos is investigating a complaint of sexual harassment received against former player Paulo Roberto Falcão, 69, who until this Friday (4) was Santos’ soccer coordinator.

A police report was also registered on Friday, at the Women’s Police Station, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo.

Falcão was approached twice by the reporter by telephone, but did not answer the calls. He also did not respond to the WhatsApp message sent by Sheet. At night, he published a note denying the crime and announced his departure from the alvinegro club.

Santos was also contacted, but did not take a position until the publication of this report. It only confirmed in a note the departure of the leader.

In testimony to Sheetthe author of the complaint, who asked not to have her name disclosed, said that the former player and now manager passed the sexual organ through her arm.

According to her, harassment occurred on two occasions. The first, on Wednesday (2), she described as “light”. The girl said she found it strange, but believed that there might not have been any malice. The second time, according to her, there were no doubts. She said her reaction was to pull away abruptly. He, reported the woman turned her back and walked away.

The complainant is an employee of the building where Falcão lives, in the neighborhood of Aparecida. She said that, some time ago, the former player told her he was “in dire need of a massage”.

According to the complainant, Falcão saw the existence of cameras in the place and made a joke about it.

Delegate Mariana Máximo Ramos issued a letter asking the person in charge of the building to present the images of the equipment.

Accompanied by lawyer Pâmela Mendes, the employee told the report that the employees’ space has a bench to prevent access by residents. Both times, the former player would have turned around to approach.

The crime of sexual harassment is punishable with a sentence of one to five years in prison. Typified in 2018, it is defined as the practice of a libidinous act against someone without that person’s consent, with the aim of satisfying one’s own desire or that of third parties.

One of the greatest players of his generation, Falcão was part of the Brazilian national team in the 1982 and 1986 World Cups. Three-time Brazilian champion with Internacional (1975, 1976 and 1979), he was nicknamed the King of Rome, for having led Rome to the Italian title in 1982.

Falcão arrived at Santos this year for the position of coordinator and had been under pressure from fans and advisors due to the team’s poor campaign on the field. The team is close to the relegation zone in the Brazilian Championship and, this Saturday (5), will receive Athletico Paranaense.

“Out of respect for the fans of Santos Futebol Clube, due to the recent protests against the team’s performance on the field, I decided to leave the position of sports coordinator on this date.
