Elderly people will gain space to sell products at regional product fairs

Manaus (AM) — The State Government, through the Amazonas Sustainable Development Agency (ADS), in partnership with the State Secretariat of Justice, Human Rights and Citizenship (Sejusc), will benefit elderly people from the solidarity economy through the “Idoso Empreendedor” program. The initiative aims to provide opportunities for elderly people to sell products at ADS regional product fairs in Manaus.

In a meeting held at ADS headquarters, representatives of the two entities discussed the partnership that aims to improve the rate of elderly entrepreneurs in the state of Amazonas. In addition to the line of credit offered by the government through the Amazonas State Development Agency (Afeam), the partnership also seeks to provide spaces at fairs so that elderly people assisted by the program can sell their solidarity economy products.

“The partnership aims to support seniors who participate in the Sejusc program, allowing them to sell their products at ADS fairs,”

highlighted the technical director of ADS, Lionilde Gonzaga.

Fairs

The Regional Product Fairs of the Amazonas Sustainable Development Agency (ADS) guarantee the commercialization of part of the State’s rural production and generate benefits for families of rural producers and family farmers, as well as entrepreneurs in the solidarity economy and artisans.

The fairs take place in 11 editions throughout the week, from Tuesday to Sunday, in spaces structured by the Government of Amazonas in different areas of the capital and the interior.

Sejusc

The “Empreender no Envelhecer” program aims to strengthen public policy, expand the supply of credit through Afeam and promote entrepreneurship among the elderly in the state of Amazonas.
